This piece is dated 1920 and an antique village weave Turkoman rug. The rug was made by tribal people in what is today known as the Afghanistan region. It has a hand-spun wool pile with madder vegetable dyes throughout. The rug is on a cotton warp and weft foundation.
This rug is unique - it was produced once by hand and there is no other rug produced quite the same.
