This is a beautifully soft, hand-knotted village/tribal rug. The woolen pile is thick and ultra-durable with an incredibly tight knot. The dyes are from root vegetables and the warp and weft foundations are hand-spun cotton. Rugs of this type would traditionally have lined tent floors and used in nomadic settings - today, they are produced in exactly the same way and used from penthouses to townhouses around the world.
This rug is unique - it was produced once by hand and there is no other rug produced quite the same.
